Over the past few weeks I've been keeping an eye out for red fabric in the thrift stores. I was lucky enough to find 3 different pieces all for about 5 bucks.
I cut the fabric (and ribbon strips I already had from Christmas) and simply tied them on a strand of jute rope.
I hung it on the mantel using Command strips.
I'm not quite done with the mantel, but I guess you can gather where those old, rusty bike wheels are...
so so cute!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! (and cute blog!)
DeleteWill you just leave the ends of the rope dangling like that? If I hang something like this with that rope, I never know how long to make the pieces on the ends, and whether or not I need to finish it off it some way or just let them hang. It sounds insignificant, but finishing matters, so I was just wondering your thoughts on it.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I love the color combination.
I think you can do whatever you want! I thought about going through and cutting them all at an angle, but once I got it up, I felt like it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Most likely people would look at it as a whole- and not individual strands...
DeleteBut, like I said, you do what feels right! :)
I might need to borrow that! 😉
ReplyDeleteAnytime! :)
DeleteWhat a great idea!! I may steal it! :) :)
