I chose to put this room first on the tour because it is by far my most favorite room in our house . . . and consequently enough, my most favorite room to have decorated! Being a former kindergarten teacher, choosing an "old school" theme for this room seemed quite natural and ended up being more fun that I could have ever imagined.
This is our baby girl's nursery.
I was thrilled that this room was featured in

ReplyDeleteThis is such a fabulous nursery! It's so happy and seems like a great place for Ross to grow up. I can't wait to see more of your house!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness- this is amazing! Our nursery walls are almost the same color and you've given me so many great ideas for decorating. I LOVE the colors and the mix of vintage and modern pieces you combined. Just beautiful!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun fun room! I love the ABC wall. I'm a former K teacher too, so I love the 'school' stuff. I just finished my son's nursery and would love it if you'd stop by and see it!

I am in LOVE with this nursery!!! Everything about it is perfect. Awesome job!
ReplyDeletethis is such an adorable nursery!!
ReplyDeleteYou've done a lovely job with this space! I think that the orange pops are great - it's such a happy colour, isn't it? I've got this linked to my nurseries post too today, for inspiration!
ReplyDeletewould you mind sharing your sources for the round orange rugs and the various letters. Thank you so much. Amazing room!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! The rugs came from IKEA. I believe they were 10 bucks a piece, and I'm pretty sure they still carry them!
ReplyDeletei loooove the alphabet wall! i've been wanting to do that in my little boy's room since i first saw it floating around the internet. this just made me want to do it even more!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love the turquoise and orange combo, and the schoolhouse theme is so fun! I notice you don't have a bumper pad. I don't either (because I haven't gotten around to finishing it yet) and am wondering about just leaving it off. Have you liked the crib without one?
ReplyDeleteFor a long time, I did leave it off . . . and I REALLY didn't want to put one on there- but with the introduction of pacifiers- I had no choice! Without it, all her pacifiers would fall to the floor! So, I went out and got a VERY basic thin, white one from IKEA. Again, I'd still love the look of no bumper! :)
ReplyDeleteA-Dor-A-Ble! love it all!!! we have very similar nursery styles, down to the vintage basket storage! mine is here:

ReplyDeleteI just found your blog and love this room. If I would have seen this 3+ years ago, this would be what I wanted! Maybe for kid #2 if that happens?! I've liked the vintage vibe for awhile and so I've collected a few things - old books, wooden blocks - but love the baskets, letters, and chalk boards! Thanks for showing off your house!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LOVE this nursery! We just painted our nursery walls the same color and are doing a tree mural with bright orange and yellow leaves! So, simular color scheme....I'm wondering if you could tell me how you got the polka dots so perfectly lined up on the desk drawer? I'd like to do something like it but don't know where to start!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! That is actually wrapping paper on the dresser drawers. It was mod podged on then lightly sanded. I hope that helps! Your nursery sounds fabulous!
Deleteso cute and a favorite color scheme of mine. love how you used the old family baby pics on the wall!
ReplyDeleteLove the nursery! Being a retired teacher of 35 years, (24 1/2 being in kindergarten), it really hits home with me. Love the vintage pieces.
ReplyDeleteHey Holly, What did you use for a changing table for Ross's Room?
ReplyDeleteFunny, someone just sked me this the other day...we used the large desk (with the mirror above). It worked wonderfully!! Plus, Ross used to LOVE looking at herself in the mirror!!
DeleteI love the color combination! Can you tell me the name and brand of the wall color? Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhere are those wire baskets in the ikea case from? They are perfect!
