I'll just be honest and tell you . . . thrifting, has become an overwhelming high of excitement for me. I love that I don't ever know what I'm going to find. And, even better, chances are, not many people have it.
I'm aware many of you are completely grossed out by even just the thought of a thrift store (and I'm here to tell you, I've been in many where you'd have every right to be), however; if you do it enough, there's no doubt you'd see the benefits outweigh the drawbacks by far.
SO WHAT if there was a problem!
So. What in the world are you waiting on?
FIND A THRIFT STORE ALREADY. . . just not mine.
I kid. :)
Happy hunting, everyone! Pin It Now!
haha! i wont steal your store as long as you dont steal mine:) i am obsessed with thrifting too, i never knew it could be so fun and cheap! i am trying to fill our newly renovated rooms, so the cheap part is what got me started and now im finding i love the more vintage, worn look then just getting everything from a box store. sadly, we dont have many thrift stores in the area, but the ones we do i am a weekly and sometimes a daily shopper there. nothing like finding a good cheap buy. is the chair a thrift find?
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more. It's addicting life as a thifter :)
ReplyDeleteIt completely is! And, as a matter of fact, that chair WAS a thrift find. I found 2 of them! I painted them black and reupholstered the seats! I couldn't be happier!
ReplyDeleteWhere are common places you thrift? I currently frequent the local Goodwill but am trying to make the foray into others (independent) thrift stores. Any advice on finding a good one?
ReplyDeleteI want to get better at it! You always find the best things. Lets plan something soon! :)
ReplyDeleteI used to hate going into thrift stores, but once I started finding a few things to makeover I finally learned what, "what's one man's trash is another man's treasure" really meant. I think there are very few things decorating my home that haven't come from a thrift store. :)
ReplyDeleteOhhh yes! I'm at the Goodwill at least twice a week. We have several locally owned thrift stores around town that I try to make it in once a week or so.
ReplyDeleteMy mom used to be the crocheting queen. She put granny squares on everything, lampshades, the arms of the sofa. Fortunately I have quite a few of the nicer things she made. You gave me a great idea for a post sometime. Thrift stores are like a food buffet, all sorts of stuff from all over!
ReplyDelete~Bliss~
I used to be a secondhand snob, until I started realising there is so much "stuff" in the shops that is over priced and uninteresting. I love to score a unique bargain and make it over into something original and creative. Plus we save a fortune. :) I'd never pay full price again. It certainly is addictive! :) x J
ReplyDeleteI LOVE THRIFT STORES TOO! Just went thrifting yesterday and one of my favorite spots had books on sale 2 for a quarter!!
ReplyDeleteLove your blog- thanks for all the inspiration:) Especially love that crocheted blanket!!!
I love going to thrifty stores, I enjoy it more than going to the mall actually!!
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine recently said she "would never shop at Goodwill"...I thought,"Well, good that leaves a lot of cool stuff for me."
ReplyDeletehe! he! exactly.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy I found your blog. I JUST started thrifting and am ADDICTED!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it! I take "precautions" and only buy things that I know I can clean...no stuffed animals for my kids.
Board games, blankets, decor etc are all within reach...for only dollars.
Oops, did I let our secret out?!
