A Table for Art

I'll have you know, I've been saving this table . . .

and chairs . . .

for years.

The table, I found at a flea market, and it sat in my kindergarten classroom for several years, while the chairs stacked in my garage until I'd collected enough from various thrift stores.
And, now, finally, it's time that they all come together . . . as they should be.

But first, I needed a bit of a change.

I started by painting the top silver (kind of an odd color for me on furniture . . . but I'm always willing to try new things in decorating), the legs teal and the chairs green.

When that was dry, I got out all my paint colors on hand . . .

and splatter-painted the top.

I mean, seriously. Why not?  It's gonna end up looking that way regardless, right?

And, I guess you recognize that chalkboard . . .

Needless to say, we've been pretty busy around here.

  10. So perfect that you splattered it--I wish I had thought to pretty splatter ours a few years ago. Now it is just plain old messy splattered. :) That picture of Ross sitting at her table is just precious!

  12. What a smart cookie you are! Great idea. I grabbed a few old children's chair at a yard sale, but unfortunately mine have been painted multiple times. Still at a loss as to what I am going to do with them .Maybe I could use this idea on the chairs instead ~ LOL!!
