Scrap Fabric & Ribbon Garland

Over the past few weeks I've been keeping an eye out for red fabric in the thrift stores. I was lucky enough to find 3 different pieces all for about 5 bucks.

I cut the fabric (and ribbon strips I already had from Christmas) and simply tied them on a strand of jute rope.

I hung it on the mantel using Command strips.

I'm not quite done with the mantel, but I guess you can gather where those old, rusty bike wheels are...

  1. Will you just leave the ends of the rope dangling like that? If I hang something like this with that rope, I never know how long to make the pieces on the ends, and whether or not I need to finish it off it some way or just let them hang. It sounds insignificant, but finishing matters, so I was just wondering your thoughts on it.

Also, I love the color combination.

    1. I think you can do whatever you want! I thought about going through and cutting them all at an angle, but once I got it up, I felt like it wouldn't make that much of a difference. Most likely people would look at it as a whole- and not individual strands...
But, like I said, you do what feels right! :)
