Making Headway...

Last week I showed you the craft room...
Well, I had a chance to get a few things organized since then...and even hang a few things in the process.

Maybe you remember the "wow wall" from the old house?
I did love that set up...but unfortunately it just wasn't working in this small space. So, I had to revamp it. Instead, I hung the pieces of fabric on strands of jute.

There's still a few things to do yet in here, but I'm making headway. ;)

WHAT I'M WORKIN' WITH: the craft room.

Although I'm not quite done with Gram's room, I've gotta keep truckin'. So, off to the next room.
This was the picture I took before we moved in. She had it pretty cute, I thought...but you can see how tiny it is...

We don't need another bedroom currently, so it made more sense to make it a craft room.

This is where it stands now.
We painted it white (no surprises there), and I've only just begun on placing all the stuff.

There's so much still to do...but the very thought of having my own little space makes me beside myself!

Home Tour: The Playroom/Craft Room

It's done.
And, it's maybe even better than I imagined it would be.
I wish I could express to you the happiness this space brings me. To think about what it was before...and now, what it is today. *sigh*

I want to be here.
Ross wants to be here.
It's exactly what we needed.

Craft Room Storage Center

I think I've finally come to a stopping point in the playroom/craft room. This was the final "big" project in the room...a little space for storage. It may, in fact, be changed around as time passes and I really get my hands on a few projects in there...but for now, I'm quite satisfied.

I guess the only think left is the final reveal...

Blogging without Borders

Several weeks ago a few of my blogging buddies suggested we start a summer series devoted to one progressive project...
One that would bring about challenges...and test our decorating ablilites...
A project that might just take us to our...breaking point
(Okay. Maybe a little too dramatic. But, you get the point, right?)

Allow me to introduce,

Over the next several weeks, I'll be taking you through the process of redecorating an entire room...from start to finish.

What room?...you might ask.
Hmmm. Are you sure you're ready for this?
Really. I don't even take my friends in here.
I'm not kidding. Some of the people that I tell my deepest, darkest secrets to have never even stepped foot in this room.

Ugh. Okay. Here we go...

Welcome to our "Game Room."

I know. I know. I can think of a few choice words myself...
So, clearly you see why it's time to take action and make a change.

Challenges:
1. Create a Play Room/Craft Room.
Currently, I see this room as a sorry excuse for a game area/craft spot...and often times storage center. It's dull, boring and lacking definition. I want to phase out the look of "game area" and transform it into more of a "play area" (play- meaning "play" for Ross and "craft" for me).
(Sorry Grady. Come in here more, and you might get your room back.)

2. Large pool table.
Don't get me wrong. We love the pool table and want to continue to make use of it, but it does take up a lot of space in this room. I need to figure out how to allow access to it, yet decorate with it at the same time.

3. Odd little nook.
I want to make the most out of this funny little space that I dismissed in the beginning.

So, there you have it. No doubt, I've got my work cut out for me...start to finish.

Be sure to check out all my blogging buds, who decided to take up the challenge right along with me!
