bits of us... at halloween.

I can't tell you how relieved I was to hear that Ross wanted to be a cat this year.
(mind you, she changed her mind at least 6 times once I started putting things together buuttt...)
The "cat costume" could quite possibly be the easiest costume ever.

So then, it was Gram I had to figure out.

Luckily there's pinterest...where I revamped this tutorial to make it work on Gram's hoodie.
It worked, and he loves it...okay- deals with it...thank goodness.

They seriously crack me up.
It makes my life seeing them play so well together right now. I know it won't last forever, but it's so obvious how much they love each other...

...even when that little mouse is constantly chasing around that big cat.

The Fall Porch

Well, I do apologize for being MIA this week...
but, if you're a mother...and you've ever been sick...well, then...you understand.

I will say, however, in between chasing children, wiping noses, and throwing together a couple Halloween costumes, I did finally manage to put the front porch together.
Weeellll...I SAY front porch. I guess I should actually call it a stoop.

Oh. And before we really get started, let me mention a little certain someone who couldn't keep his hands off during our small photography session...

You know me, I typically stick to natural. (I said typically.)
So, that's always easy in the fall, I feel like.

After I put out all the pumpkins...

I felt like the doors needed something.

So, I started unwinding jute (that I found at an old thrift store for a couple bucks) and hung it up.

After still feeling like it needed something...I added a few braids to pump it up a bit.

And, the leaves...hahaha. I mine as well work with 'em...because they seem to reappear every time I turn the other direction.

Of course, I haven't minded them too much...

Fall Porches (from the past)

I do miss our old, little porch.
Fall was always my favorite time to decorate it.

We're in a completely different situation with our new house. In fact, I'll admit I haven't even started to decorate it...not even a mat.  It's definitely more of a challenge.
But, I've made that my mission this week...

Repurpose a Thrift Store Chandelier

As the new house is coming along with the paint, I had a few minutes to put together a fun RRR project for this month!

I scored this fun, old chandelier (beaten up in exactly the right way) for just $1.99!

How EASY to give it a quick change with just a few votive candles!

My first thought was for a porch coffee table or outdoor centerpiece...

but I also noticed it looking pretty fabulous by Annie's porch fireplace.

Now, go and check out the rest of the gals RRR projects this month! You won't be dissappointed!

(...and while you do that, I'll be preparing for a moving van.)

Welcome to Annie's: Front Porch

As you already know, Annie's a thrifter. I'm always in awe at the fun things she finds. In fact, you realize it even before you step foot in her home...

The old bike is my favorite.
What a fun and playful way to welcome guests...

(I can't wait to show you the rest...)

Our Little, Rustic Christmas Porch

I'll assume you recognize this same monogram you've seen over and over again...
well, I thought I might try to stretch it into just one more post.

It's still on the same old grapevine wreath you see here...
and, I don't know, for the life of me, why I never put this together before...but thank goodness it dawned on me to add my own tree trimmings to it...and save a few bucks making my own fresh wreath this year. It literally took 5 minutes. (Why, on earth, hadn't anyone said anything to me about this before?? Because, I'm sure you've all been doing it for years, haven't you?)

Turns out it was just what I needed to go with the other additions...

But, don't let this rustic look fool you, because the inside is far from it...

Fall Porch

I kept it pretty simple this year.
You know, I tend to like it that way...

Check out the monogram wreath tutorial here.

Monogrammed Fall Wreath

Maybe you remember the monogrammed embriodery hoop I did several years ago...
This year I thought it might be fun to change it up and use a wreath instead. So, I used my same burlap monogram from the embroidery hoop (find that tutorial here) and simply attached it to my wreath.

Because it was larger than my wreath (and also very discolored from the sun), I had to make it smaller.

I chose to pin it back rather than cut it, just in case I wanted to put it back in the embriodery hoop again at some point.

After it was pinned, I used a needle and thread and loosely sewed it all the way around the wreath. (I doubled up on the thread to make it thicker and stronger.)

What kind of fun new fall decorations have you made thus far??
Add a link! I'd love to check them out!
