The Benefits of a Small Town Thrift Shop

If you're reading this, then I'd assume you enjoy thrifting...at least every once in a while. And, if you enjoy thrifting, then you've probably already figured out that it's become a bit of a phenomenon in the last few years.
Just the word "vintage" usually takes prices to a whole new level.
Flea market vendors know this.
They know what they have, they know what it's worth and they're there to get paid.
And, well, it's hard to blame them. Usually, I'm in awe at the stuff they get their hands on. I might never see some of their things again.

In most cases, a thrift store works differently. Things are generally donated, categorized and priced to get out.

That's where we come in.

Because, it's pretty amazing...

the things you can find for as little as 4 bucks.

Happy hunting, everyone...

  8. holy crow! that's amazing! I found a set of PERFECT, vintage PYREX mixing bowls (yellow with green floral, I'm sure you know what it looks like) for $12, but I had to pass because it was either them or the perfect halloween costume. I don't need any more bowls anyway.... :(

  11. Wowzers!!!! Ummm....not at my Red Shield Store. Seriously it would have been $50 there...which would have been a great price, still. But...not what you would hope. Recently they had a steamer there....same price I paid for mine at Tarjay....
    Happy for you!!

  12. That's why I love my little, local Salvation Army store. Sometimes, you find an amazing deal like that! My best find was a pair of sterling candlesticks that should have been $600 and I got the for $15. Funny that I was just thinking about doing a post on the Le Crueset oval baker that came from a yard sale for 50 cents. ~ Maureen

  15. It helps, too, if the town in po-dunk enough that most people don't know what le creuset is! Great buy!

  16. How fun for you! I happened upon two wonderful Le Creuset canisters at a garage sale a while back. (In blue :) Twelve dollars for both. I knew that I was getting a huge deal. I was playing it cool on the outside and jumping up and down on the inside. I even did a little bargaining with the guy. When I got home and looked them up on ebay...I was even more excited! Congrats to you! I can just imagine the excitement when you spotted that little beauty.
