A $5 Fireplace Screen Makeover

I was beside myself when I ran across this old fireplace screen at the Goodwill a few weeks ago. I knew I had to have something to block the baby from a roaring, hot fire this winter, so when I saw this propped up against the wall with a $5 price tag on it, I snatched it right up!

Now, don't get me wrong, I do enjoy a bit of gold here and there, but this . . . was just a little too much.

Luckily, we all know what a little spray paint can do . . .

  2. I love how you left a little bit of the gold/brass with the corner hardware. It's perfect. $5.00 never looked so good. :)
