A Fall Door

I'm thrilled about this week!  I can't wait to show you the house for fall!

Decorating turned out even more fun that I anticipated! I've come to realize . . . I LOVE pumpkins! It's amazing the changes they can make to a house! They're bright and bold and really make a statement . . . wherever they are.  I decided to mix a few of those bright and bold pumpkins with a couple thrifty crates for our front door.

Be sure to stay tuned this week!  There's lots more fall decor . . . along with a guest post from Cheryl over at Nefotlak!   I'm dying for you to see the redo she's done!!  It's genius!

Happy hunting, everyone!!

As I'm finishing up our house for fall this weekend, I thought I'd leave you with a few very inspirational mantels.  Some of my favorites, in fact.  Happy hunting, everyone!

Home Tour: The Family Room

Grady and I have lived in this house for almost 3 years now.  I was so excited that I started planning the color scheme even before we moved in.  I got on an orange and green kick long before we bought the house, and I'm happy to say, I still love it today.  (You'll see even more of this in the kitchen.)  There's something about bright colors that have always made me feel good . . . they're fun and energetic.

A friend once told me upon walking in the door,  ". . . it just makes me feel happy!"

Put simply, there's been no better compliment than that.

(Wall color: This wall color was actually already on the walls when we moved in, and unfortunately the the (Sherwin Williams) can that was left by the previous owners didn't have any sort of color information listed on it at all.  However, after using my handy Sherwin Williams paint swatch book, the color "Butternut" matches up almost perfectly.) Copy Cat 3 Tiered Stand

I don't know if you caught the 3 tiered stand from The Crafting Chicks or not . . . but from the moment I spotted it, I was head over heels in love! I have been completely obsessed with finding old pie pans at the thrift store . . . and to be honest, after months of searching, I had all but given up.

Much to my delight, however, a couple weeks ago I ran across- not one . . . or two . . . but FOUR old pie pans all in the same spot.  (It's a shame you weren't there to dance and sing with Ross and I when we found them.)

Immediately, I painted the old wooden candle holders (I'd been hoarding for months) and glued them to my precious pie pans.

I'm thrilled.
Thank you, Crafting Chicks.

Pumpkins

This was our table . . . hard to believe, but two years ago.  Simple, as you can imagine. A stencil and a paintbrush was all it took.

. . . still waiting on pumpkins in these parts.  *sigh*

A Fun Find

I tend to always keep my eyes open for shutters. I'm not exactly sure what it is that I'm actually looking for . . . I just assume I'll know it when I see it. Fleming and I lucked out and ran across a bunch of cute ones a while ago (if you remember that project), and I'm thrilled with it . . . but I still have this funny feeling there's that perfect shutter out there . . . waiting on me.

Anyway, in the meantime, I found a few old plantation shutters this week . . . in the hopes of jazzin' up fall in our house this year.

We'll see . . .
