Super Easy Father's Day Idea

I do apologize I couldn't get this to you before Father's Day...but if I would have done that, it wouldn't have been much of a surprise...

I wanted to do something different...rather than the same old, boring picture in a frame. So, I decided to Mod Podge it on a piece of wood instead. (Pretty manly, right?)

After the home improvement store cut my piece of wood for me, I stained it a shade or two darker.

Next, I printed out a little sentence Ross revealed to me about Grady and Mod Podged that on to the photo.

And, lastly, I Mod Podged the photo on to the stained wood.

Super easy, yet super sweet.
He is one great dad, I might add...

The Dollhouse

You've probably already gathered how ridiculously proud I am of Ross's little dollhouse. (I promise, this is my final post about it!) But, from what I hear, dollhouses are one of those things kids play with for years and years. In fact, my mother-in-law still owns hers...and Ross plays with it everytime we visit. I can only hope that's how it'll be with this one...
Regardless, it sure was fun to decorate!

Dollhouse Details: DIY Wall Art

I know it's been quite some time since I last posted about the dollhouse...

but I realized I neglected to show you how incredibly easy creating your own art for those tiny, little walls was...

I found the frames- 3 for about 4 bucks at Hobby Lobby (in the dollhouse section). However, wallet-size picture frames from The Dollar Tree or Walmart work well too!

Then, I printed out whatever phrases I wanted onto cardstock using Word. (And of course, you could do anything here.)

Next, I simply lined up a peice of tissue paper to the inside of the frame and traced the size of actual picture part.

I cut out the tissue paper and centered it on my words. Then, I traced the tissue paper right where I wanted it. That made it super easy to cut out the exact right size.

Finally, I sprayed the back with spray adhesive and attached it to the frame.

SO super easy.

Vintage Sheets

Here lately, vintage sheets have been up there with mason jars in my book. I'm in love with their cheery patterns and bright designs. I can't seem to get enough of them...
Currently, I have a little project going with them, but there's so much fabric! I know I could get several projects out of them!

What kind of fun projects have you done with vintage sheets?

Wednesday Redo: The Thrifted Wardrobe

I gotta be honest...I may have passed right by this old wardrobe if I had seen it in my thrift store. It's pretty dull and down right boring.

I never would have thought such a simple stencil pattern would have made such a dramatic difference!
How fabulous.

Get the scoop on how Amy did it at Maker Mama.

The Old Travel Bag

While on hiatus, I came across this old piece of luggage. Originally, I had thoughts of redoing it with fabric, but then changed my mind at the last minute. Plus, I was a bit curious whether or not spray paint would work...

So, after loading it down with painters tape and a quick plastic primer spray, I covered it in Rustoleum's "Candy Pink."

I'd imagine you can guess who it now belongs to...

And, from what I can tell, the spray paint worked wonderfully. It's held up surprisingly well through all the bumps and bruises that princes and princesses seem to make...
